If you would like to soften your wrinkles and achieve a younger, more radiant appearance without surgery, dermal fillers like Radiesse are a great option for you. Dermal fillers are temporary, lasting 6 months on average. But how does Radiesse compare? Does Radiesse last longer than other fillers? Let’s find out.
Dermal fillers are among the most popular anti-aging treatments for reducing fine lines, and adding volume to hollow areas of the face.
What is Radiesse?
Radiesse a dermal filler that is widely used to temporarily smooth out moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. It is particularly effective on smile lines and marionette lines, as well as lines at the corner of the mouth.
While most other fillers are derived from hyaluronic acid, Radiesse is comprised of calcium-based microspheres that are suspended in a water-based gel. The calcium is similar to the natural vitamin found in the body, therefore no allergy testing is required prior to treatment.
How does it work?
Due to its nature, Radiesse is injected deeper into the skin than other soft tissue fillers. A very tiny needle is used to inject it under the skin, and when it is absorbed it immediately adds volume, and smooths fine lines. Radiesse also helps with the production of collagen, which makes the skin tighter and smoother over time.
How long does it last?
When Radiesse is injected properly it will last a long time, up to 15 months in some cases, but it also depends on where it is injected. Other soft tissue fillers typically last 6 to 9 months.
