What areas of the body is Coolsculpting FDA approved to treat?

Do you have a few areas where you’re struggling to shed those last few inches? CoolSculpting may be a good option for those problem areas. CoolSculpting has become a popular body contouring treatment in recent years, and is now performed all across the country. But how does it work, and what areas of the body is CoolSculpting FDA approved to treat.

How CoolSculpting works
CoolSculpting is a fat reduction procedure that works by freezing unwanted fat cells. It’s based on the science of cryolipolysis which recognizes that fat cells are more susceptible to freezing than other cells. So the system is able to selectively target the fat cells without harming the surrounding tissue. The treated fat cells shrink and die over the following 2-3 months.

CoolSculpting reduces fat in the treated area by up to 20% after a single session, and the fat cells expelled by the body are gone for good.

If you have pockets of diet-resistant fat it’s likely that CoolSculpting can be used to trim these parts of the body.

CoolSculpting is FDA approved for treating several areas – the abdomen, flanks, thighs, upper arms, bra fat, back fat, and the area just under the buttocks (often referred to as the banana roll).

CoolSculpting is also approved for treating submental fat which is fat below the chin aka the ‘double chin.’ This is done using a smaller applicator known as the CoolMini. The CoolMini is specially designed to treat small pockets of fat.
