What is Coolsculpting?

Do you exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet, but still have areas of fat you can’t seem to shift.  CoolSculpting may be the right fit for you because it tackles stubborn fat that is resistant to diet and exercise.  But what is CoolSculpting?

What Is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive fat reduction procedure that uses controlled cooling to freeze away unwanted fat and improve body contours.  It is a completely non-surgical treatment that requires no incisions, needles, or anesthesia.  There is also no downtime.

CoolSculpting is based on proven science known as cryolipolysis.  The technology was developed by scientists at Harvard University who observed that fat cells break down when targeted with cold temperatures.

CoolSculpting is designed to treat small isolated pockets of fat in specific areas of the body.  This makes it suitable for men and women that are near or at their ideal weight.    CoolSculpting reduces the fat layer in the treated area by 20-25%.

The fat cells killed during CoolSculpting don’t return, so the results of treatment are long-lasting.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

The CoolSculpting applicator is placed on the targeted area and the cold temperatures specifically target the fat cells, without harming surrounding cells and tissue.  The intense cold causes the fat cells to crystallize and die.  The dead cells are naturally processed and removed from the body in the months to follow, resulting in a reduction in fat in the treated area.   Final results can take up to 4 months to show.

CoolSculpting treatment is safe and virtually painless.  However, patients may feel sensations of pulling, tugging, and tingling during the procedure.

What Areas Can CoolSculpting Treat?

CoolSculpting is FDA approved for treating the abdomen, thighs, flanks, upper arms, submental area (below the chin), and upper arms, as well as bra fat and underneath the buttocks.
