Lip Augmentation: What are my Options?

Would you like fuller, smoother lips?  Lip augmentation can give you the youthful lips you desire.  When done correctly, lip augmentation can produce subtle, natural-looking results.  But when it comes to lip augmentation what are your options.

Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation is a procedure that is done to increase the volume and shape of the lips.  Some people have naturally thin lips, but others notice that their lips become thinner and lose volume with age; lip augmentation enhances lip contours.

Options for Lip Augmentation

There are several surgical and non-surgical options available for lip augmentation, but lip augmentation with temporary fillers is the most popular option these days.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers like Juvederm Volbella XC and Juvederm Ultra XC are especially effective for lip augmentation because they provide reliable results.  Juvederm Volbella and Juvederm Ultra XC can both add volume to the lips, making them appear fuller and smoother. They also plump perioral lines (lip lines) around the mouth.

How Juvederm Enhances the Lips

A tiny needle is used to inject Juvederm into the lips and the HA molecules in the filler attract water.  This added volume makes the lips fuller and shapelier. HA fillers are reversible, so if patients are unhappy with the final results an enzyme known as hyaluronidase can be injected into the lips to dissolve the filler.

How Long do the Results Last?

HA fillers provide temporary lip augmentation results because HA is absorbed by the body over time.   The results of Juvederm Ultra XC and Juvederm Volbella lasts up to 1 year.
